Thea and Denise are worlds apart, on the surface they are vastly different people, yet somehow opposites attract, I think Thea is attracted by Denise's motherly, empathetic nature and Denise is certainly drawn to the glitz and confident aura Thea exudes.
In a mad moment Thea invites Denise to escape from her day to day, dreary existence with its round of household chores, family and work and run away on the road trip of a lifetime.
Denise is desperate and stuck in a rut so goes along for the ride yet she doesn't anticipate how close the two women would get and what they would truly learn about each others lives and how beneath the exterior Thea too is battling dark demons.
I loved the total difference between the two women and the strength of their friendship in spite of that.
This was a real feel good book celebrating the joy of life and friendship and all the bumps along the way.
