Denise is drowning in domesticity and is unhappy with her humdrum life of work, an inattentive husband, her teen, nearly adult boys.
She has no time for herself and her needs are put on the back burner.
That is until she meets the glamorous Thea, the two strike up an unlikely friendship, Thea is all Denise wants to be, sexy, confident, seems to have her life sorted.
But she doesn't realise that is all just a facade and when they embark on a spontaneous road trip together they get to know each other better and that Thea and her "sorted" life isn't all that it seems.
This was such a great read, so funny yet a very tough, emotional and for a lot of women very relatable novel.
So much more than just what they term "women's fictions" this story had real depth and character that will appeal to many readers.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, one of my books of the year so far.
