This book is perfect to read on a beach in the sunshine. It is a very easy read and a quick page turner.
If you have seen the film it is about strong female characters going on a road trip. Thea and Denise are complete opposites and have nothing in common except their relatives are in the same nursing home. A chance meeting at a party and they start to become friends at a time in each of there lives when the need someone.
Thea is very secretive and decides to get away from her problems, mainly her 16 year old daughter, by going on a road trip with a list of things she would like to do such as get a tattoo.
Denise feed up of being the person that does everything for everyone else decides to go for what she thinks is a weekend away.
The story is full of laughter, happening and sadness and you find yourself wanting to find out the results of this trip. The relationships with other family members such as Lillian, Denise's mother were very well explained and fit in perfectly with the story.
