I really liked this book, it was a good read without being too saccharine sweet or predictable. The story kept you guessing throughout, I wanted to find out what Thea was running from and what her plans were, and it was fun to guess. It was good to have Denise going through the menopause, as this is hardly mentioned in books and it raises awareness of it and normalises it. The characters were believable and their relationship wasn't too perfect, so I really felt invested in both of them and wanted to see what would happen. Glad to see the ends were tied up at the end, I appreciated the epilogue which was set 25 years later.
Considering it was billed as a road trip book, it took a surprisingly long time for them to actually get on the road (100+ pages!) but the scene setting made sense later in the book.
All in all, a really enjoyable book that I would definitely read again.
