I am reminded of Thelma and Louise for those of us old enough to remember the film. The cliff edge scene repeats here - or does it? This is only insinuated in her words and we have yet to find out in the reveal as we delve into their story.

The chapter begins with a 'she' waking up from what appears to me night sweats, possibly from menopause which would place our character in mid-life as she dwells on the problems of adult children and the responsibility of elderly parents and inlaws and other domestic issues that tend to play on one's mind. Clearly she is at breaking point and the story that unfolds is possibly a release to the pressure that has been building. Likely to be a good piece of escapism story for those of us who are currently experiencing the same journey. The story is set in the UK - so their journey is likely to reach a cliff edge into the sea at some point! Question is - will they go over?
