I'm not usually a fan of historical fiction but I've had my mind changed by a few books whose cover and genre I judged prior to reading. So I gave this one a chance but sadly this is not one I can continue reading beyond this first impression. The first thing that had interrupted my flow of reading was the lack of speech marks when a character was speaking. This bothered me to the end so I would struggle to read past the first impression. The next thing was the plot sadly didn't draw me in. The book cover wouldn't have me picking the book up off the shelf either.
