We are transported in this book to Belfast in April 1941 where Lucy is giving us her stories of what was happening then.
I really find this sort of story so very interesting. To be able to put myself into that situation back then and to wonder how it must have been ,and how people must have reacted to all that was going on around them.
These were certainly difficult times and must have been so very challenging..People knew what they were expected to do and in most tried their damdist to do it regardless of what other pressures they were under.
Here we are following the lives of 2 sisters Emma and Audrey one of who is in a secret relationship with another women something that just wasn't done in those days.
This story is heartbreaking and is written about a time that most people found incredibly hard to get through and to deal with.
