Picture this…
It is April, 1941. Belfast has just escaped the worst that the war has given so far. Over the next two months, it's going to be destroyed, and people will say, My God, Belfast is finished. Most will not make it through, and nobody who does manage to make it through will stay the same.

This book follows the lives of the sisters Emma and Audrey, (one is engaged to be married whilst the other is in a secret relationship with another woman) as they try to survive the four nights of bombing which were the Belfast Blitz. These Days is a timeless and heart-breaking novel about family, love and how we try to stay true to ourselves often times then not, failing.
This book was beautifully written and the ideas were perfectly conveyed. All that was given was developed just the right amount. The reason I would not give this book four or five stars is because I felt that the characters were too robotic however I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who enjoys the concept of wanting to keep yourself happy whilst making sure everyone else is happy too.
