What a read this one was! Both funny and tragic in equal measure with plenty of scope for thought provoking discussions, I've recommended this one to my book group. Set in a quaint English village, Bilal is set a seemingly impossible task by his mother, one which threatens to split the villagers in two. What follows is a wonderful tale of friendship, disagreement, prejudice and faith. The characters are beautifully written, warm and welcoming and I think most people can relate to all of them. My favourite character has to be Khala Rukshana... she won me over with her simple belief in friendship. An excellent thought provoking read which will restore your faith in humanity and the powers of a friend.
