I fell head over heels rght into this book. Real personal engagement, gardening, nutrition, love, family, mystery. What more could I want?
Well, just a breath later I encountered poetry ("The old man sat on a carpet in a smoke-blackened house and spoke long sentences I hadn’t heard him speak before. Melodious sentences in a foreign language."). And medicine. And more lyrical prose ("I heard only the rushing of waterfalls and a shrieking bird of prey"). And grief.
I can't set this story down.
