From the first sentence I was hooked.
It has romance, mythology, drama and action.
The design was engaging, the blurb made me want to read it straight away and the first sentence made me do excited to keep reading more. It's similar to the personality of the evil witch in a fairy tale but instead of spells and Hocus Pocus it's a siren with a lot of different plans. The fact it started with the main protagonist is so comfortable and comforted by the idea she has a heart got every year of her life is both psychotic and comical. As if the bloody, retched heart is a cute, cuddly teddy bear.
I want to read more.
It is a shame this was not in the book competition this week as I would have happily bought it with my points. From the start to the finish of the first look I maintained the same level of interest and I would happily recommend this book to other people.
