This is a fast paced thriller set in the hustle and bustle of London. We follow Ellen who, desperate for a child of her own, suddenly finds herself left in the care of a newborn as its mother runs away.

The synopsis gripped me right from the start. I mean, come on? Who reads that and doesn’t immediately go straight to Waterstones.com to get their hands on a copy?

I thought T.M Logan’s writing was perfect for such a gripping read, not only was it succinct but the atmosphere created was utterly perfect. So tense! I really enjoyed how often I found myself surprised at the twists and turns that kept coming.

My only complaints are with how it seemed to peter out towards the end, and with the over all ending, itself. I know I’m picky with conclusions, however, so what I deemed underwhelming, many might find delightful.

While this was a perfectly fine read for me, I know that I’ll be keeping an eye out for any further publications of Logan’s!
