A novel that sadly tries and fails to properly fuse the idea of a dual narrative between two very different women.

I loved the book cover but that's where my enjoyment ended with this read. I struggled to even finish it entirely as I could not relate to any of the characters at all or find something to make me invested in their stories. Because of the layout switching almost constantly between the characters of Lottie and Nina, it can get really confusing as to whose narrative is whose. The book has a grand vocabulary, however the words used were so "well developed" that I had to stop reading at times and look up what certain words meant, ruining any sort of pace within the book, especially at the very beginning. It was only around 250 pages in to the novel that it stopped using as many difficult words allowing the reader to actually pay attention to the plot. Overall, it dragged a bit as everything was incorrectly paced or too flowery in the language.
