Based on the cover alone, I would have not picked up this novel- it looks to be aimed at a male audience.
The opening chapter is horrific and far too accurate- after all the author was a police officer.
In spite of my misgivings, I continued to race through the following chapters.
It may be uncomfortable, but it seems like the start of a very strong story.
