This book was absolutely wonderful and a brilliant debut novel for the author, it was a fabulous read I really couldn't put it down and the story between Effie and Theo was heart-warming and thanks to the authors amazing writing style you could really get into the characters and a sense of how they were feeling and empathise for everything that was going on in the story as though you were living it for yourself. I could relate to Effie on so many levels as am constantly thinking that I am not enough and that my best isn't good enough
This book was perfect escapism for the current climate and was something that I was able to lose myself in and laugh and cry and be happy and heartbroken all at the same time.
Very Nearly Normal is a life affirming book that everyone should read and gives us all a feeling of hope and also what is normal anyway and to be happy with how they are and not compare their normal to that of others and as long as you are happy that's the main thing.
