This book was a really enjoyable read and once I had picked it up I didn't want to put it down. The book is written from twelve different perspectives and each chapter moves on a month in time. The result is a beautiful insight into the lives of these neighbours over the course of the year. We learn their secrets and how they live their lives in a way that no one else around them does.
We meet Mona and Wolfie who have been married for 65 years. We learn how they both arrived on kinder transport and how they have made a home for themselves in London. We meet their son and grandchildren and find out about them and the people they meet.
The whole concept is very clever and very well written. The book feels fluid despite the changes between chapters and I would definitely recommend it to others. The cover is beautiful and I really like the colour of it. A great read.
