Towards the end I hit a huge patch of over-sentimentalised repetition and lost all belief in the main character Pandora Cohen and her relationships with many of the other characters. There were so many missed opportunities to make it true to life, to make the characters seem like real people. It felt like I was watching a pantomime or a different version of Les Miserables and it did have some singing at the end! The ending was really not conceivable! The writing was mediocre. It was well written but it just did nothing to grab my attention and it lacked substance I also found it quite boring in parts and I found myself scan reading certain chapters just to rush through it. Not for me unfortunately.
My first impressions of that cover were that it was boring however after reading the blurb I was slightly more impressed and thought that I could end up enjoying it after all.
