Really loved this one, it was very close to a five star book for me.

When I read the blurb of this, I had assumed it was going to be a bit of a crime thriller but it was so much more than this.
This is so much more about place and how huge events affect everyone in a small community.
The character of Duchess will be one of my favourites for a long time - she was so well drawn and I loved everything about her despite her (understandable) flaws.
This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and leave you wanting more.
I have Tall Oaks by this author on my shelf and am now looking forward to reading this and others by him.
