‘We begin at the end’ is a tragic story of loss, loyalty and what family can mean to certain individuals.
Initially, I was gripped with the synopsis, a crime thriller starting at the end when one of the main characters are realised from prison - however, I found the first few chapters very slow paced and difficult to follow.
Usually I can adapt to all main characters within a book, or at least see why they may act in a particular way. I just could not connect with a couple of the characters which made the storyline a bit scatty to enjoy, as some chapters felt longer than necessary.
But - sticking with the book - the twist and change in pace definitely grabbed my attention! Thinking I’d guessed how the story would end, I really hadn’t and thoroughly enjoyed the later parts of the book. If you don’t mind a slow burner which becomes rapidly gripping - you’ll love this book! Thank you.
