I really enjoyed this book about why Helen left & the aftermath of her leaving.

The story is told from the points of view of a number of the key players which makes for really intelligent writing.

I found myself taking various peoples "sides" during the novel which shows well-balanced & thoughtful characters. For example, at the beginning I really didn't like Helen for leaving as she did but by the end I found myself on her side! I wanted to know why she left but I was also really intrigued about the impact it had on Sam, his children and his friends. ( Although why his boss put up with him I don't know!)

It covers a good period of time to show that these things aren't resolved in a week or a month. The descriptions of the characters behaviour were crafted well.

I genuinely wanted to keep reading to find out what had happened - I hope you do too!
