If you know Louise Pentland from her massive platform on YouTube then you will recognize the voice she uses for her main character, Robin. Robin Wilde is a relatable character. I find that in most books, the reality of not having an unlimited amount of money, is often forgotten. The reality of making the best of what you can, especially as a single mother, is highlighted in this novel. The author uses great visual descriptions and includes small humour throughout. I am not a single mum but I was able to understand Robin's story because the writing captures you and puts you into her shoes. Her unique personality and creative names and phrases for almost everything make this character shine. Although written by a well-known YouTuber, this book is a great standalone novel and many readers can enjoy a taste of love from Robin.
