I really loved this, though aimed at a I guess YA kind of audience I think this was a relevant read for adults too.
It's the story of a boy called Ross Malory who has a rare form of eye cancer.
Being such an aggressive cancer he is in danger of losing his sight and also maybe his eye.
Told from the point of view of a child this is sensitively done and a very moving account of a kid battling not just a terrible disease but how his peers relate to him and the isolation and loneliness of being the "different" kid at school.
Based on the real life experiences of Rob himself who went through this as an adult it's an intimate portrayal peppered with jokes to try and show that where there is life there is hope.
Such a brilliant book.
