Twelve-year-old Ross has a rare eye cancer and really just wants everything to go back to normal. He doesn't want to have to deal with medical treatments, vision loss, or his friends and family treating him differently. As things start to get on top of him, Ross discovers that music, art, and friends can change everything.
I know that this is a YA novel which I probably shouldn't have enjoyed but I really loved this book. It was so uplifting, heartbreaking and educational which I think comes from the author using his personal experiences to inspire the story. Rob Harrell's illustrations and comics throughout the book were perfect, giving a lightness to what could have been a depressing story. A really powerful book.
