A young adult fiction about a young boy called Ross Molloy who is faced with the diagnosis of a rare eye cancer. Alongside treatment from surgery and radiation therapy, so much uncertainty surrounds Ross around his life. He also has to manage with changing relationships, as certain friends become distant, and classmates view him horribly different due to his squinty eye and hair loss. His best friend Abby however remains supportive by his side. It is also a horrendous time for Ross' dad, due to his wife also passing away from cancer.
This book bought out all motions from me, including moments of sadness and even laughter. It is based on the author's real life experience of eye cancer, and is truly a page turner. I feel that it is such a great and humbling read, especially for children in secondary school!
