I have never read a book so quickly after I had opened the first page
I was skeptical… a book about a young chef? Why would I enjoy that!! I was wrong the characters had layers and the story’s had layers! It was a fantastic telling of being young and the trials and tribulations that can come and go! It opened my eyes to racial prejudice to young black women
The writing was easy to follow but in depth enough to flow and create images in your head
The way new places and adventures were told made you feel almost with the characters
Overall it was an extremely well written and executed book which I was happy I got the chance to read as I wouldn’t have picked it up on my own intuition and wouldn’t have experienced the joy that came with reading it
I’m excited to read out of my usual more and find real hidden Jems like this one
