Emoni Santiago is a teen mother, struggling to juggle her daughter, school, do menial jobs to help out her grandmother and also indulge her passion for cooking.
She dreams desperately of working in a professional kitchen but her dreams are put on hold due to all her responsibilities.
But is there a way that she can have all her dreams?
She just needs to be brave with her cooking talent and see where her creativity takes her.
This was such an engaging, YA novel, great characters I really cared about, also the author does a wonderful job or dealing with social issues that affect girls from all aspects of society.
Teen mothers, responsibility, working hard, following your dreams, money worries, relationships.
All are incorporated into a delicious story that even at 42 I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Though YA, I always think good writing transcends age groups and target audiences, this is just a good book to be enjoyed by anyone.
