Not one for people afraid of clowns!
This is the second book featuring DS Nathan Cody I've read (there are more than this overall) and it's a decent detective novel. Incredibly graphic in places so this is not for the faint hearted. It's a pretty original storyline but having not read all of the previous books in the series I did struggle a little to keep up with the flashbacks and I would say the reader would get more out of this book with a full knowledge of the background. One element that I really didn't enjoy is that murderous clowns were quite a major feature, and as someone with a fear of clowns, I found it hard going at times! I did really like the fact that it had such a strong female character in the form of Sara Prior. Not sure I'll be rushing to hunt out the books I've missed, but if you enjoyed the rest of the series then I would recommend this.
