The lead character Nikki is a woman who is consumed by grief for the loss of her young daughter Grace and who has another daughter Bella who has not spoken since her twin died. They move house to a house controlled by AI which is supposed to be for a fresh start and with lots of safety features and then the story begins. I found the characters sad but engrossing and wonder what will happen at the new house.
