A bit drawn out and dreary in places
Slow to start and not particularly gripping. The main characters don’t quite feel true to life, making the scenario unbelievable from the outset. I like to be drawn into the minds and lives of the characters but I just couldn’t engage. Whenever there was a reference to their past it was a bit dreary.
A lot of Americanisms creep in, despite being set in London and with references to other locations nearby.
The central part of the tale is more interesting than the conclusion which is a bit of a drawn out anti-climax.
I felt the AI story has been told so many times in other books it’s not keeping my interest. I haven’t read any other books by this author so don’t know if typical of their work.
