When I read the blurb for this one, I was intrigued and really wanted to read it. The concept sounded fresh and original and at first I was drawn into the narrative.
The idea that the house is run completely by artificial intelligence is a novel one and I thought that was fairly well done. The idea that Bella doesn't talk at all following the death of her sister made for an interesting read and I was interested to see where this would go and how it would affect the storyline.
Overall I found the pacing to be a little off. The first two thirds of the book are very slow moving and we don't really feel like we know what direction the book is moving in. It concentrates very much on Bella not speaking and the worries of Nikki, her mum. Then towards the end, it seems like everything happens at once and feels a little chaotic and far-fetched. It so so-so for me I'm afraid
