17 Church Road is a terrifying and creepy book in many ways as the age of Artificial Intelligence and virtual assistance become ever more present in our day to day lives.
After a horrific and life changing accident, Nikki, Ethan and Bella decide to move to give themselves a fresh start and start to move forward with their lives. On the face of it, their new home is perfect and should be the envy of their friends and family. Beyond all the mod cons they have Alice who anticipates their every need and adapts to integrate more and more into their lives.
This is a book which really gives the reader a sense of foreboding and growing dread as the pages turn. It is well written and although parts seem rather far fetched, there is a nagging sense that we may not be so far off this being a possibility although admittedly not quite so dramatic. Well worth a read!
