I was really excited to read this book. I loved the idea of an AI going rogue! With technology constantly improving and adapting, I genuinely feel that this is something that could really happen - which is obviously quite disturbing.
17 Church Row is about a family trying to recover from their grief after losing one of their daughters in an accident a few years ago. They move into a new house where everything is controlled by an AI called Alice. Alice is supposed to be state of the art modern technology. She is the first computer so advanced and is supposedly completely hackproof. However, she does have the occasional "glitch", and this causes consequences for the family.
I think the story was very exciting to start with. I loved the concept of it and found the whole idea very creepy and fascinating. However, the twist towards the end of the book was quite unexpected and changed the whole story. For me, I feel this ruined the whole book and I think it could have had a much better ending
