“A family touched by tragedy” trying to make a new start in a new home that should be a safe haven… but this home is controlled by a virtual assistant that has it’s own agenda.

The basic idea of the story is a good one.
Sadly, I found the plot to be full of holes and none of the characters really engaged me. There were also some glaring errors.

I can’t explain how the plot failed me without introducing spoilers, but I was left feeling that I hadn’t been given the full story.

The only character I took to was Sofia, and no-one else seemed to really care about her in the end. I cared about her. She was the one who (innocently?) happened across Santos…

None of the characters seemed to really care about anyone or anything other than themselves. I certainly didn’t care about any of them – I was upset about the Koi Carp but their fate wasn’t sinister enough for me.

Yes, there was a good twist to the tale, albeit a tad far-fetched. Nothing’s impossible but the author failed to make me think that all this could really happen; it remains highly improbable.

It was neither an enjoyable nor a satisfying read for me.

Thank you to Readers First, Bonnier Books and James Carol for my ARC in return for my honest review.
