I have read mixed reviews of this book. Some have been very good, whilst others have not. On the negative side, I have read that the book is predictable, however I did not find this to be the case. There were plot twists and turns that I did not see coming, especially as the story came together. I did not feel much empathy for the Rhodes' daughter and felt she was more of a hindrance to the plot and became a bit annoyed with Nikki and her anxiety. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the book and read it within a few days. I enjoyed how James Carol kept you gripped with suspense and kept you guessing right up to the end. The one place where you should be safe, your home, turns out to be a prison, with no escape!
