17 Church Row is a superb thriller that really makes you question our reliance on computers and the role of virtual assistants in our everyday lives. The story revolves around Nikki and Ethan and their daughter Bella, who is non-verbal following the traumatic loss of her twin sister a couple of years earlier. Seeking a fresh start they move into a new high tech house controlled by a sophisticated artificial intelligence called Alice. Pretty soon things take a turn for the worse and there's a sense of mounting menace that builds up as events unfold and the love of a parent is tested to its limits. I found this book to be a thrilling read that kept me hooked right up to the fast-paced ending, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
