I was really looking forward to reading this book but I did find it a difficult read till about two thirds through where the action and pace really picked up and it became a much more exciting and enjoyable read.

I didn’t particularly connect with the characters of Nikki and Ethan Rhodes despite the tragedy that had rocked their family so it made it difficult to actually care much about their predicament. Ethan was absent for must of the book consumed with his work unless their was some kind of “incident” and Nikki was just not very likeable as a character even though she was a grieving mother.

I did however love the twist in the book that I had only partial guessed correctly and how it explained the separate narrative we had been getting snippets of throughout the book which had been what most intrigued me.

A thriller with a sci-fi element and state of the art technology made it modern and thought provoking. The Epilogue of the story is quite chilling to read. It makes you really think about the direction society is taking and how reliant we all are on are smart devices and technology especially the younger generation and where this could all lead.
