I didn't really have high hopes for this book as I couldn't see how a story about a highly technological house could be entertaining. However, it has managed to prove me wrong and I am glad it has.

The beginning chapters drip feed you information and hints that Alice, the houses state-of-the-art tech system, maybe more sinister than its creators thought. You begin to wonder why she does certain things, and whether her more innocent actions will turn out to have an ulterior motive. Despite all of this, I didn't think the action would pick up quite as much as it does. Two different narratives come together to create a whole narrative, and it isn't until towards the end that you learn who Katy, Father and Sarah really are and how they fit into the Rhodes' lives. An overall thrilling and tense read that came completely out of the blue. Easy to read, well written and not in the least bit slow.
