I was intrigued and drawn in by the cover and completely gripped by the opening chapters. It is astonishing and depressing to find this is written by a Daily Mail journalist - obviously their damaging misogyny is a deliberate choice in order to spread misery and outrage because this author obviously understands well the difficulties faced by women "allowed" to work in institutions designed by men for their own benefit.
Readers are pitched right into the middle of the plot, and allowed to catch up with the detail of characters and situations even as they develop. It is fast paced and exciting, and I can't wait to read the rest of the novel.
