29 seconds by T.M.Logan tells the story of Sarah, a woman deserted by her husband that has to put up with her boss's bullying and sexual advances while juggling her two children and her important career as a academic professor. One day, she is given the opportunity to put and end to all her problems but the cost is too high. Will she go though with it?
This book I read in ebook version whith was around 630 pages, and I wasn't bored for even a second. The main event of the book happens many pages in, while the first 300 pages set the mood of the story and make you realise the difficult things that Sarah has to deal with on a daily basis. It certainly deals with issues that may trigger or upset some readers, but unfortunately these issues stem from real life, and I appreciated the way they were presented;I found it realistic. Sarah was frustrating sometimes because she was too silent, too passive if I may, but I know that not all people are born strong. This was actually a great opportunity for character development and the author accomplished it with success.
Honestly, the only thing I didn't particularly like about the writing were the dramatic questions at the end of several chapters. I found them a bit cheesy.
Other than that it was a book I fully enjoyed, and I read it in a couple of days. I would definitely check more books from this author!
