I enjoyed this book enough. It isn't completely to my taste, but I guess it would be difficult to find a book that is.
Sometimes I found the story a little too descriptive. I don't care what gear Sarah's car is in when she's driving?
Alan is a genuinely slimy character and made me think of Lockhart from the Harry Potter novels if he decided he wanted to use his powers for evil. Harry Potter could have been VERY different if so!
The chapters are very short, which means if you have a quick five minutes here or there you can sneak a quick read. However "just one more chapter" can soon become "just twelve more" and before you know if the sun is shining through your window.
The whole "Russian Mafia" side of things seemed very far fetched.
One other thing I picked up on, and please correct me if this is a strange thing to point out - who breathes in through their mouth and out through their nose to calm down? Because apparently Sarah does!
Besides all this, I did enjoy this book and it did hold my interest.
