I read to 60% but unfortunately had to DNF at that point. I found the plot way too far-fetched, the plot took a lot of time to get going, and there was so much unnecessary padding. There were a lot of little details about the children which we did not need to know, and these details did not add anything to the plot. By 60% of the way into the book, once I thought the story had picked up and the main plot point was about to get going, it started to get even more unbelievable, so I chose to give up. The writing style was fairly non-offensive and this was an easy read, I just found that this book wasn't for me. Additionally, I wonder if it would have been more effective if written as a novella or short story rather than a whole book, which just seemed to drag.
