I find a lot of crime books rather samey, but I really like the way this one is written and the characters are unique enough even in the first few pages. I have a soft spot for books which flit between time periods, making this one particularly appealing. And being the first book involving covid that I've actually had a glimpse of, I'm even more intrigued!
