Howard hooks her reader right from the start, jumping immediately into the action before drawing back to give us a tantalising glimpse at a budding new relationship which, the reader fears, if soon to end in tragedy. What I found most appealing about this book was the fact that it is set during the first lockdown, making it the first book I've come across to tackle that strange time. Howard does so with a wry humour which instantly brought me back to the last year and the first lockdown, and I am eager to see how she continues to develop the plot amidst the background of a global pandemic.
