First things first: I like the cover. It drew me in far more than the usual dark covers of mysteries. I find it a little disconcerting reading a fictional book that mentions and deals with Covid-19 as it is still such a visceral reality, and makes it painfully clear how long we've been dealing with it. So that was a bit discomfiting but I loved The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howard so I jumped into this with open eyes and knowing that it could well be a difficult read. It was thrilling and exciting and gripping and very tense. This was a riveting read that uses multiple timelines to tell the story which I always enjoy if it's done right, which it was in this case. This really plays on the fear that was prominent in the early days of covid so if this is something you're uncomfortable with or sensitive about I would probably steer clear of this one!
