This is only the second book I've read which has been set during the current Covid-19 Pandemic, so I was really interested to see how this would be written and played out. I loved 'The Nothing Man' by Catherine Ryan Howard so I had a feeling this was going to be another brilliant thriller. Well, I wasn't wrong!

56 Days is set during the first lockdown in Ireland and tells the story of Ciara and Oliver who meet a week before the first case of Covid is reported in the country. They begin to date and decide quickly to move in together so that they can see each other during lockdown. However, it soon becomes clear that Oliver is hiding his true self and as the story progresses, we find that Ciara may not also be who she says she is.

The story is set over a timeline of 56 days and jumps back and forth, the present day being where a body is discovered. The timeline could sometimes be a little confusing but it was an interesting way of telling the story. I really enjoyed it and whilst some may not be a fan of reading about the pandemic, it is something that we can all relate to. It kept me guessing all the way through right to the end and I would definitely recommend it to any crime/thriller fans!
