I think it's brave for a Writer to set a story in the pandemic, as many Writers have sworn they wouldn't, preferring to let the world move on. This is the first book I've seen ignore this.

Ciara moves in with Ollie during the first lockdown in Dublin in 2020. Both have known each other a relatively short period of time, so there are some risks here. The tale jumps through time and back again through Ollie, Ciara and Guard Lee's perspective, which can make for repetitive and confusing reading trying to keep up with what happened when. But it's a simple story with a slightly predictable twist at the end, so don't despair if slightly confused with the timeline. My own down point would be not enough red herrings to divert the reader from correctly guessing. Was this a rushed job to get this book published whilst Covid is still relevant? the differing perspectives is what drives the story forward and generates the mystery and intrigue with the characters.

I applaud the Author for venturing into lockdown arena. It's especially interesting to read how Dublin was affected. The descriptions feel like I'm walking the streets too with Ciara, which gives detail to the story.

I feel the story was uncomfortably close to real life, not just in terms of covid but in true crime too.
