This is a brilliantly written book! Thank you to @readersfirst for my #gifted copy. 56 days is out now! The story takes place during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown. Ciara and Oliver meet in a supermarket just before the lockdown begins, bonding over space shuttles and the beginnings of their blossoming relationship.
I really like how Catherine Ryan Howard writes in such a way that she leads you to believe one thing and then twists it later in the story! The timeline alternates across the 56 days covering how they met, the day the police find a body and the bits in between. Catherine has done well to make sure the reader understands the characters pasts in a gentle, slow burn which keeps you wanting more so you can’t put the book down! I did work out a little of the storyline but I was kept guessing and shocked throughout!
I would totally recommend this book! I’ll be looking out for more books to add to my TBR by @cathryanhoward as it seems I’ve missed a couple previously!
