Crime in the time of Covid...
This is the second book I've now read set amidst the events of Covid-19, and I'm guessing it might be the start of an influx of others.
Set in Dublin during the early days of Covid-19, 56 Days tells the story of Ciara and Oliver and their whirlwind romance, accelerated by the impact of imposed Covid-19 restrictions.
Factual backdrop, but then fiction takes over with a big dose of crime and thriller thrown into the mix.
I found this a fairly good read, and even the Covid references didn't put me off - which I thought might have happened.
Prepare for a pretty dark back story and some surprises along the way, as we get to learn who the real characters are.
My only negative would be that I think it was slightly long and repetitive in places, which I know was part of the plot line, but 100 pages less would have helped I think.
Interesting to see the past crazy 18 months captured in fiction!
