The story is set in Dublin just as Ireland goes into the first Lockdown in March 2020. Ciara and Oliver have just met and there seems to be a strong mutual attraction but not all is what it seems. The two decide that, under the circumstances and the tough Covid restrictions, they will move in together. This is not, however, a predictable love story and one of them ends up dead. The question is “is it murder?” and, if so, by who and why.

I found it an easy-to-read thriller with enough interesting twists and turns to make me not want to put it down. I didn’t find the Covid aspect as irritating as I thought I may, and it was used quite naturally as a framing for the storyline. Having read, and thoroughly enjoyed, the author’s previous thriller “The Nothing Man” I was looking forward to this book. I wouldn’t rate it quite as highly but still a very enjoyable read.
