The idea of 56 days was interesting and drew you in from the beginning. Ciara and Oliver meet at the start of the covid pandemic and decide to see how things go without the pressure of outside influence from friends and family by moving in together to be together when lock down starts.
The pandemic is so fresh in our minds but the total lock down with the deserted streets and queues seem such a long time ago but the writing captures the mood beautifully.
With Oliver you are told there is a secret he is keeping and the switch between present day and the past reveals his secret but it is kept from Ciara. The writing is great and keeps Ciara's secret until the end, with a great twist to boot.
This was a brilliant read and was easy to get wrapped up in the story and characters themselves. The switch between times adds to the elements of the story and unlike some books doesn't confuse anything. Would highly recommend this book.
